6.3.1 Proportion of wastewater safely treated [1]

During 2010-2022 years, the proportion of wastewater safely treated decreased by 1,3 percentage points from 57,5 percent to 56,2 percent.

Compared to 2021, the total volume of wastewater discharged in 2022 decreased by 3,0 percent from 5237,1 million cubic meters to 5082,6 million cubic meters.

6.4.1 Change in water-use efficiency over time, USD/m3

In the country compared to 2016, in 2019 the water-use efficiency increased by 0.88 USD/m3 and amounted 4.58 USD/m3.

6.4.2 Level of water stress: freshwater withdrawal as a proportion of available freshwater resources, in percentage

In 2010-2019, the proportion of freshwater withdrawal for using in available freshwater resources rosed by 7.15 percentage points from 48.43 percent to 55.58 percent.

The dynamics of the indicator illustrates an increase in the level of pressure on the available water resources. Thus, the total volume of freshwater withdrawal from natural sources increased by 14.8 percent from 10,970 million cubic meters in 2010 to 12,590 million cubic meters in 2019.
