8.1.1 Annual growth rate of real GDP per capita, compared to previous year, in percentage

      In 2022, real GDP per capita increased by 4,1 percent compared to the previous year.     
According to preliminary data in 2022, the GDP of the country was 133825,8 million manat, of which 52,2 percent was produced in the non-oil and gas sectors of the economy and 47,8 percent in the oil and gas sector. The share of industry in GDP was 51,1 percent, trade and repair of vehicles contributed 8,2 percent, construction 4,8 percent, transport and warehousing 6,0 percent, agriculture, forestry and fishery 4,8 percent, tourist accommodation and public catering 1,6 percent, information and communication 1,4 percent, other sectors 14,7 percent, and net taxes on products and import 7,4 percent.  

8.10.1 Number of commercial bank branches and (b) number of ATMs per 100,000 adults

The number of commercial bank branches per 100,000 adults declined from 13.6 in 2010 to 11.0 in 2019, and the number of ATMs per 100,000 adults increased from 26.7 to 33.9.
In absolute terms, the number of ATMs in the country in 2010 was 1,892 (1,053 of them in Baku, 839 in the regions), and by the end of 2019 this figure was 2,647 (1,421 in Baku and 1,226 in the regions)[1].
In 2019, there were 509 branches of 30 banks operating in the country (2 of which are state-owned and 28 belong to private sector)[2].
8.2.1 Annual growth rate of real GDP per employed person, compared to previous year, in percentage

Compared to 2010, in 2019 the real GDP per employed person deccreased by 0.7 percent. 
Compared to 2010, in 2019 the number of peoples employed in the economy increased by 14.1 percent from 4,329.1 thousand persons to 4,938.5 thousand persons. In the same year, 36.0 percent of the total employed population was engaged in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 14.4 percent in trade and repair of vehicles, 7.8 percent in education, 7.4 percent in construction, 5.7 percent in public administration, defense and social security, 5.3 percent in process industry, 4.2 percent in transport and warehousing, 3.9 percent in health and social services, and 15.3 percent in other sectors.
As for the disaggregation by types of ownership, the number of persons employed in the private sector was greater than in the public sector. Thus, 76.6 percent of the employed population or 3,781.7 thousand persons were employed in the private sector, and 23.4 percent or 1156.8 thousand persons in the public sector.
8.5.1 Average hourly earnings of employees, by sex, manats

      In 2010-2019, the average hourly earnings of employees rose by 1.9 times from 2.2 manats to 4.2 manats. During this period, the average hourly earnings of female employees increased by 1.9 times from 1.6 manats to 3.0 manats, and the average hourly earnings of male employees increased by 1.8 times from 2.7 manat to 4.9 manat.
In 2019, the average monthly nominal earnings of men was 764,8 manats, and of women was 443,4 manats. The average monthly nominal earnings of employees were higher in the non-public sector than in the public sector. Thus, women worked in the public sector with 405.9 manats average monthly nominal earnings and 549.6 manats in the non-public sector. The average monthly nominal earnings of men was 673.1 manats and 837.5 manats, respectively.
Disaggregation by economic regions, the highest threshold was 5.7 manat in Baku and the lowest was 2.3 manat in the Yukhari Karabakh economic region.
8.5.2 Unemployment rate, by sex, in percentage

      In 2010-2019, the unemployment rate in the country declined from 5.6 percent to 4.8 percent, while the unemployment rate among men decreased from 4.4 percent to 4.0 percent, and among women from 6.9 percent to 5.7 percent. During this period, the number of economically active population in the country increased by 602.7 thousand persons to 5,190.1 persons, and 251.6 thousand persons of them were unemployed. 
In 2019, as to geographical location, the unemployment rate among women was 6.7 percent in urban areas, 4.7 percent in rural areas, and unemployment rate among men was 4.9 percent in urban areas and 3.1 percent in rural areas.
Disaggregation by economic regions, the highest level of unemployment persons was recorded in Baku.

8.8.1 Fatal and non-fatal occupational injuries per 100,000 workers, by sex

The frequency rates of fatal and non-fatal occupational injuries per 100,000 workers in 2019 compared 2010 decreased 1 case, but compared 2018 increased 5 case and amounted 18.
During this period, the number of people who received fatal occupational injuries decreased from 68 persons to 63 persons, and the number of people who received non-fatal occupational injuries increased from 196 persons to 239 persons. 
In 2019, the number of people with fatal occupational injuries and loss of work ability and by types of economic activities were in mining industry 59, in manufacturing industry 45, in electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply 18, in water supply, waste treatment and dissposal 3, in construction 53, in transportation and storage 28, in information and communication 10, and in other types of economic activities 86 persons.



8.9.1 Tourism direct GDP as a proportion of total GDP and in growth rate

In 2013-2019, tourism direct GDP as a proportion of total GDP increased from 3.6 percent to 4.5 percent. In 2019 compared to 2013 the value added created in the areas specific to tourism increased by 78.1 percent and rose from 2,080.2 million manat to 3,704.9 million manat.



In 2013-2019, annual average growth rate of the value added created in the areas specific to tourism amounted to 8.8 percent. In 2019 compared to 2014 the value added created in the areas specific to tourism increased from 2,404.2 million manat to 3,704.9 million manat.
