The present Law establishes the legal basis for appointment and payment of social benefits in the Azerbaijan Republic and governs other relations arising in this sphere.

The present Law establishes the bases of emergence of the rights of citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic to work pension, rules of realization of these rights and system of providing with work pension.

The present Law governs the legal and economic relations in connection with creation and management of special economic zones in the Azerbaijan Republic, establishes rules of the organization of business activity in these zones.

The present Law according to Items 11 and 15 of part I of article 94 of the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic establishes legal and economic bases of release, state registration, the mass offer of investment securities in the Azerbaijan Republic, depositary and post-trade systems, turnover of securities and derivative financial instruments, the principles and rules of the organization, management and liquidation of persons having the license in the security market and the central depositary, the relations in the sphere of protection of the rights of investors, and also regulation and supervision in the security market.

The present Law determines the principles of implementation of currency transactions in the Azerbaijan Republic, powers and functions of bodies of currency control and currency exchange control, the right and obligation of legal entities and physical persons concerning ownership, uses and orders of currency values, responsibility for violation of the foreign exchange legislation.
