On May 6, 2024, a meeting took place at the State Statistics Committee with the delegation from the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Discussions were held on issues related to the organization of statistics concerning the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Rauf Salimov, the Deputy Chairman of the State Statistics Committee, greeted the delegation and provided general information about the work, achievements, and challenges encountered in the country regarding the organization of SDG statistics. At the same time, he expressed the committee's interest in learning from the experiences of other countries, particularly in the field of sustainable development statistics.

Daovy Vongxay, Director General of the International Organization Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao People's Democratic Republic, expressed gratitude for the organization of the meeting. He highlighted the potential benefits of familiarizing themselves with Azerbaijan's experience in the field of SDG statistics.

Subsequently, representatives of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Bureau of Statistics of the Lao People's Democratic Republic presented their respective works in the field of SDG statistics, exchanged ideas, and addressed questions.
