On July 1-4, 2025, a seminar on “Capacity Building on Indicators of Target 2.1 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” was held jointly organized by the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The event was attended by specialists from the State Statistical Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food Safety Agency.
At the seminar, the methodologies for calculating the indicators “2.1.1 Prevalence of undernourishment” and “2.1.2 Prevalence of moderate or severe food insecurity in the population, based on the Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES)” of SDG target 2.1 “By 2030, end hunger and ensure access by all people, in particular the poor and people in vulnerable situations, including infants, to safe, nutritious and sufficient food all year round” which were identified as national priority for our country were explained by FAO expert Adeeba Ishaq, and calculations were made based on simulated data using the capabilities of the STATA program package, and recommendations were given to overcome possible difficulties encountered during data preparation.
Within the framework of the event, an exchange of views was held on the issues of preparing data on SDG indicators 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 for our country.
